Rain clouds really did have a silver lining for Failsworth company AWC Windows when snooker legend Steve Davis dropped in after being rained-off from an event nearby.

The six-times World Champion also works as ambassador for the trade organisation Network VEKA so when the weather washed out a golf day he was due to attend in Manchester, he decided to make a surprise visit to AWC and its commercial partner company Gemini UPVC at its Arkwright Street, Oldham base.

“We didn’t know anything about it until we got a phone call just before he arrived,” said AWC Sales Manager Steve Wells.

“He does a marvellous job for Network VEKA so it was great to get the chance to meet him.”
Gemini manufactures windows and conservatories for commercial clients and trade installers. AWC, based at the Daisy Nook Garden Centre, works directly for homeowners in the area.
